This popular retreat for NAWE members will be in partnership again with Lapidus, the national organisation that promotes writing for health and well being
Our retreat will take place at Ty Newydd, The National Centre for Writing in Wales and will have a theme of writing for personal development that participants are welcome to dip into if they so wish. Last year's retreat had a great atmosphere with plenty of discussion about arts, health, education, finding time to concentrate on the craft of writing and some fantastic readings.
The week will include a morning workshop to kick-start personal writing ideas, run by Liz Cashdan and a Lapidus writer.
Ty Newydd
Ty Newydd was once the home of Lloyd George. Situated in North Wales, about twenty-five miles from Bangor, it stands in landscaped gardens with fine views over Cardigan Bay and towards the mountains of Meirionydd. It is very easy to get to by public transport.
Note: Arrangements can be made for people to be picked up from Cricieth. We also meet people at Bangor station but due to the distance involved, a charge has to be made.
The centre had been closed for extensive repair and refurbishment and reopened in April 2006 with new facilities and disabled access.
