BAFTA Scotland Spotlight On: Murdered By My Father

Join writer and BAFTA Breakthrough Brit Vinay Patel and actress Kiran Sonia Sawar to discuss the development of this BAFTA nominated programme; the characters, the themes and the challenges involved in the creating such a powerful drama.

Murdered By My Father follows the account of a true-life honour killing of an Asian girl which debuted on BBC3 to critical acclaim. Join writer and BAFTA Breakthrough Brit Vinay Patel and actress Kiran Sonia Sawar to discuss the development of this BAFTA nominated programme; the characters, the themes and the challenges involved in the creating such a powerful drama.

This event is in partnership with Scotland on Demand, a new talent development opportunity for emerging Black Asian and Minority Ethnic writers and emerging creative producers to create a 10 minute scripted pilot, supported by GMAC Productions and Creative Scotland.

Sky Drama will support a participants’ table read prior to the event, and a reception will be held afterwards.
