About the Agent Workshop
Caroline, who previously worked for the Christopher Little Literary Agency, will provide you with valuable insights about what agents are looking for, and talk you through the common mistakes made in agent pitches.
You and your fellow writers will benefit from expert advice on negotiating the route to publication, in an intimate and supportive setting. You’ll have the opportunity to ask Caroline questions, and to discuss your own writing and experiences with your classmates.
In the afternoon you’ll have the chance to discuss your work in an individual fifteen minute session with Caroline Hardman, where she’ll give tailored feedback and constructive counsel on a 6000 word extract of your work.

Participant Requirements
• 3 chapters, or up to 6,000 words. (Double spaced and in 12pt font.)
• A short 'pitch'/book blurb, or a synopsis if this is not possible
• A brief author biography or paragraph about you

About Caroline Hardman
Caroline Hardman founded Hardman & Swainson in 2012, after working as an agent for the Christopher Little Literary Agency and The Marsh Agency. Having previously specialised in translation rights, Caroline is strongly placed in the global publishing trade. Caroline is currently interested in accessible literary fiction, quality commercial fiction, and crime and thrillers (including psychological suspense). She is looking for writing which is original and striking, both in style and characterisation.
