Creative Writing for Those with Dyslexia
Mon 3 Oct 2016 to Mon 3 Oct 2016
These workshops are aimed at dyslexic writers who want to develop their creativity. They will be led by a writer who is dyslexic, has published two novels and various articles and short stories, and has been teaching for over twenty years

The workshops are suitable for beginners as well as those who have been writing for a while. They focus on the idea that writing is about practice and not about talent. Please bring a notebook and pen or a laptop to work on.

There will be opportunities for you to share your work with others, and for informal, friendly discussion, but this will be optional–you won’t be put on the spot.

The workshops will use free writing, creative visualisation, inspiration from life and character creation exercises to get your creativity flowing. There will be tips for developing your writing further at the end of each workshop.

Tutor: Louise Tondeur’s first two novels The Water’s Edge and The Haven Home for Delinquent Girlswere published by Headline Review. Some of her recent publications include ‘The First Time’ in Litro Magazine, two short stories in Everything is Spherical, the second Anthology of Dyslexic Writing. Louise has been teaching for over twenty years. She currently works as a Creative Writing lecturer at the University of Roehampton. You can find out more on her website www.louisetondeur.co.uk
