Lessons from the Slushpile with Juliet Pickering
Sat 4 Oct 2014 to Sat 4 Oct 2014
Scared your submission will end at the bottom of the slushpile? Not sure where you’re going wrong with your pitch?
Juliet Pickering, literary agent to authors such as Kerry Hudson and Laurie Penny, will provide a relaxed and friendly guide to what agents actually want from a submission and give you one-to-one feedback on how to improve yours.

In the morning Juliet will lead a discussion around how best to approach an agent, using examples from her own experiences, and giving you an essential insight. You’ll discover a series of top tips, create useful checklists and get valuable advice on making sure your book is ready to be sent out.

Juliet will also read your freshly revamped submission and provide one-to-one feedback from an agent’s perspective, offering a critique of your opening and your submission as a whole.
