Facilitated by poet Natalie Scott, this series of six workshops will guide you through a range of activities designed to get you thinking and writing expressively
Six week course at Norton Library on Wednesdays at 17:30 – 19:00 starting 11th January, 2017 (£30 for full course)
Facilitated by poet Natalie Scott, this series of 6 workshops will guide you through a range of activities designed to get you thinking and writing expressively. Some activities will use a poem as a prompt to stimulate your own thoughts through group discussion and help you to write a creative response guided by a bibliotherapy facilitator. Others will encourage you to express your thoughts on the page and through discussion in response to a subject, theme or object. To experience the benefit of being part of a group, you will be invited to share your writing and, if you choose to do so, it will be received in a supportive, non-critical way. No prior writing experience is necessary and writers of all abilities are welcome. The main focus of the session will be on the expression of ideas, thoughts and feelings, rather than writing craft.
Natalie Scott is a published poet and qualified teacher with a PhD in Creative Writing. She is a member of Lapidus and is currently training with the International Federation for Biblio/ Poetry Therapy to become a Certified Applied Poetry Facilitator, an internationally recognised qualification in writing for therapeutic purposes.
