Playwriting Workshop with Tina Jay
Sat 19 May 2018 to Sat 19 May 2018
Join award-winning playwright Tina Jay for a one day workshop aimed at developing a range of dramatic writing techniques for creating your own short or full length play.

Areas of development to include creating strong engaging characters, the importance of realistic dialogue, and the central need for conflict. We will also look at how to help the play ‘stay’ with the audience after the reading/performance, redrafting and the problems of ‘over-writing’, and at how the play may be extended from a short play into a full-length play.

Tina Jay is an award-winning playwright, having won both the Kenneth Branagh Award for New Drama Writing for her play ‘Walking’ and the International Student Playscript Competition, judged by Sir Alan Ayckbourn, for ‘Rotten Apples’. She has had numerous plays performed at theatres across London including The Royal Exchange and also at The Contact Theatre in Manchester.
