Learn the fundamentals of writing as you develop your ideas into short stories. Through a series of exercises with plenty of feedback discover how to use character, setting, dialogue, conflict and dramatic structure to write and edit your work. Develop skills in finding ideas and working with them to complete stories; whether flash fiction, commercial or other, this West Dean course will take you closer to becoming a writer.
Ruth Brandt's short stories have been published in anthologies and magazines, including Aesthetica Creative Writing Annual, Bristol Short Story Prize and Litro, and nominated for the Pushcart Prize. She has an MFA (Distinction) Creative Writing, Kingston University, won the MFA Creative Writing Prize 2017 and tutors for Surrey Adult Learning.
