Starting Your Novel and Carrying On with Nathan Filer & Tiffany Murray
Mon 22 Aug 2016 to Sat 27 Aug 2016
Have you started your novel? How many times? Perhaps you find it difficult to get past page fifty, to sustain your narrative, your enthusiasm? Have you spent months, maybe years redrafting the tricky first chapter? Do you get lost in your plot?

Do you think there might be a key to opening this world? During this week, acclaimed authors Nathan Filer and Tiffany Murray will share their personal approaches to novel writing.

This course will cover a range of topics for the first-time novelist, from the spark of an idea to writing an irresistible opening line; from discovering your characters to shaping a plot; from that messy first draft to becoming your own most helpful critic; and the development of good writing habits to take beyond the workshop.

You will examine your own writing and that of other writers on the course in a creative, adventurous and friendly community. Be prepared to make big and small decisions about your novel and be prepared to have fun.
