Welcome to the mountainous peninsula of Pelion – home of quaint villages, deserted beaches, the centaurs of Greek myth…and The Reader’s 2018 writing retreat!
This year, we’ll be heading to the hilltop village of Pinakates in Greece for two weeks of intensive writing practice in the midst of an inspirational landscape. We’re taking over a gorgeous family-run guesthouse with two experienced tutors on hand to guide you: expressive-writing expert and Pelion native Dimitra Didangelou and the ever-popular Jane Flett, who’s taking a break from her sold-out Berlin courses to bring her teaching to warmer climes.
Week 1 is for those looking for some rigorous writing instruction to kickstart or restart their practice. With daily workshops, regular scheduled writing sessions and one-to-one mentoring, you’ll leave Greece with a notebook stuffed with new ideas and a new sense of direction in your writing.
Week 2 is ideal for those already at work on a project, and looking for the time and motivation to dedicate to it fully. You’ll benefit from one-to-one mentoring and the encouragement of your fellow writers in our writing sessions, but your time generally will be looser for you to schedule as you see fit—and finally finish those stories!
