Theatre Writing Course in London with Simon Vinnicombe - Few Spaces Only Remaining
Tue 8 May 2018 to Tue 3 Jul 2018
An advanced ten week course presented by scriptwriting development company Master Raconteur for writers wanting to complete a new full length play.

A ten week course for writers wanting to complete a new full length play.

10 days 60 hours These 10 weeks and any following workshops will follow the same format as most University MA Theatre / Playwriting courses. Simon has taught MA Theatre for several years.

Each session will explore a new element of theatre writing from structure, narrative, dramatic action, dialogue, character, stage directions and form. We will also explore a new text each week and workshop new pieces of work from course participants. Some of this work will be set by the course leader and some will be a continuation of your own work/play. The course will also incorporate at least two one on one tutorials with a view to helping participants towards creating a full length new play.

It’s recommended that you have some experience in writing for theatre, whether on a previous course or at University. This course is focused on helping you complete a play you can be proud of and ready to submit to theatres.

There may be a follow-on 10 week course which will workshop and move your play forward.

Simon Vinnicombe began his career when he was invited to join the Royal Court a ‘Super Group’ within the Young Writers Program and he was part of the celebrated writers company ‘The Agathist’s. His work has been produced at the Bush Theatre, Union Theatre, Edinburgh Festival, Southwark Playhouse, the Old Vic Theatre, the Manhattan Theatre Club, New York City and on BBC Radio 4. Simon works as a dramaturg for screen and theatre and teaches screen and stage at The University Of Hertfordshire.
