Walking in the Footsteps of Jane Eyre
Sat 10 Oct 2015 to Sat 10 Oct 2015
Walking in the Footsteps of Jane Eyre offers the opportunity for writers, photographers and artists to undertake a short literary pilgrimage to the landscapes that inspired Charlotte Brontë, and to participate in a walking arts workshop

Walk

At 11am on Saturday, 10th October 2015, we will meet as a group in front of Haversage Post Office and take a gentle 5 hour walk, with lots of breaks to write and rest in the Derbyshire countryside, where Charlotte Bronte gathered her inspiration to write her classic novel Jane Eyre.

(Please bring waterproofs, a packed lunch, and wear sturdy boots. The walk is fairly gentle, with one moderately steep path up to Stanage Edge.)

Talk

There will be the chance to chat with fellow walkers, sharing common ground, socializing and learning from each other as we walk.

Write

At several scenic points along the way, we will stop to write and reflect for a few minutes. We would also love you to take photographs or make sketches.

Publish

Within a month of completing the walk, a professionally produced book containing work produced on the day will be published. Your copy of the book will be included in the cost of the walk, but additional copies will be able to be ordered from (Link to blurb website needed!)
