Writing Scripts for Comic Books & Graphic Novels
Mon 28 May 2018 to Mon 16 Jul 2018
Learn how to write exciting, vibrant scripts for comics and graphic novels in this eight-week evening class with award-winning writer Emma Beeby run by Skriva Writing School.
Graphic novels and comicbooks are now as mainstream as novels, film and television. They demand strong storytelling, great visuals and a limitless imagination. Following on from our introductory course last year, award-winning comics writer Emma Beeby returns to Skriva with an advanced workshop series aimed at getting you writing your own comics and graphic novel projects for a target of existing market opportunities – for example a FutureShock to submit to 2000AD (4 pages), the first pages of an original graphic novel, or the first episodes for a new web comic.

This is a practical-led course that will develop your writing skills over eight weeks. Lots of opportunities to write, class exercises, and a chance to read and feedback on the group’s work. This course is suitable for anyone interested in creating visual stories - from those new to comics to the obsessive collectors! Writers and artists, and writer/artists are all welcome.
