Artist in Residence SPINE Festival 2018
Deadline: Mon 20 Nov 2017
Apples and Snakes and London library partners are seeking four dynamic artists from a range of different creative disciplines to be part of SPINE Festival 2018.
This is an exciting festival in its fourth year, which takes place in various libraries across London, produced by Apples and Snakes and participating library partners. Four boroughs (Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea, Newham and Tower Hamlets) wish to appoint a lead artist to be resident in one library in their borough during SPINE Festival. We are seeking artists from a range of different creative disciplines. We are also interested in meeting artists who have a digital aspect to their work.

Each artist will spend their residency days in a variety of ways which might include workshops with school groups and after school, workshops for families or for pre-school children, working with the local community and providing training for library staff/volunteers. The theme of this year's festival is displacement.

A minimum of 4 days (with potential for 10 days depending on funding) and a willingness to work evenings, and weekends including 1 day planning with library staff and visiting local schools, time spent delivering at the host library during the festival plus half day evaluation meeting afterwards. You must be available during second half of February/early March 2017.

Fee: £300 per day (including all expenses). We are keen to recruit artists who reflect the diverse communities within London.

Essential:
• Experience of working with children, young people and families.
• An interest in/experience of library settings.
• Experience of working with diverse communities
• Interest in and experience of working with emerging artists
• Experience of working in a community setting
• Excellent digital knowledge/experience of social media
• A current DBS and public liability insurance.

Please send a brief CV (max. 2 sides) and a covering letter (max. 1 side) explaining what excites you about the role and how you would plan to use your time and explore the theme to fiona@applesandsnakes.org by midday Monday 20 November 2017. More info here
