Raise Dark Theatre are running a new writing programme for armed forces personnel marking the first anniversary of the departure of British Troops from Afghanistan

Alongside their co-production of The Sweethearts at the Finborough Theatre this autumn, Raise Dark Theatre are running a new writing programme for armed forces personnel marking the first anniversary of the departure of British Troops from Afghanistan.

Raise Dark Theatre are looking for ex and current service personnel with little or no previous involvement in the arts to take part in three fun and enjoyable writing workshops with professional playwrights this September. You will join the cast of THE SWEETHEARTS in rehearsals to watch a reading of the play, be given a short introductory course on writing for theatre and then receive remote support by phone/email as you work on your short play.

Participants will also be given the opportunity to have their work published and performed both at a Friends & Family event and alongside THE SWEETHEARTS at the award-winning Finborough theatre this autumn.

Thanks to the support of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Arts Grants Scheme the programme is completely free for those taking part.

To register your interest please email thesweetheartsplay@hotmail.com by Friday 21 August
