The Catering and Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for the day to day catering for course attendees at Ty Newydd, and ensuring that the hospitality experience is of a high quality

Catering and Hospitality Coordinator
37 hours / full time
6 Month Fixed Term Contract
£17,000 – £20,000 pro rata

The Catering and Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for the day to day catering for course attendees at Ty Newydd, and ensuring that the hospitality experience is of a high quality.

This involves catering for all kinds of dietary requirements; maintenance and cleaning; and general co-ordination of contractors and relevant budgets. The position involves working unsociable hours and weekends.

Key tasks include:

•Responsibility for catering to groups of up to 20 and supervising course participants in the kitchen
• Delivering for all dietary requirements
•Meal planning and shopping on a weekly basis for planned courses and
•Light cleaning (dining room and kitchen, daily)
•Responsibility for operations logs and schedules including co-ordination of the relevant budgets, overseen by the Venue Manager
•Managing operational supplies and inventories in liaison with the Venue Manager
•Operational administration as required
•Assisting in ensuring the overall smooth running of residential writing courses, including availability on site when courses are running and driving the hospitality experience
•Welcoming guests to Ty Newydd, representing the centre and Literature Wales
•Occasionally sleeping over at Ty Newydd during school courses

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills, experience, and personal qualities:

• Experience in catering
• An efficient and proactive working style and a positive working attitude
• Organisational and administration skills
• Experience of working to and meeting targets
• A full and clean driving license and car ownership
• The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post

The Catering and Hospitality Coordinator will need a qualification in Food Hygiene Level 2 and First Aid in the Workplace. If you don’t currently hold these certificates, Literature Wales could provide training. DBS check will be carried out for successful applicant.

The Catering and Hospitality Coordinator will work from Ty Newydd Writing Centre, Llanystumdwy, Gwynedd, Cricieth, LL52 0LW

This is a 6 month fixed term contract, ideally beginning Monday 3 August 2015.
