The Ministry of Stories is a writing and mentoring centre in east London, where anyone aged eight to 18 can come and discover their own gift for writing.
The Community Engagement Coordinator is a key role at the Ministry because it grounds our work in our neighbourhood. You will work to create and maintain great links with individuals and organisations in our community. You’ll build partnerships, recruit and support local volunteers and spread the word about us in locally. To support our Family Programme, you’ll encourage local families to get involved in our work. You will develop marketing materials, present at youth and community events and organise and run events at the Ministry of Stories. Working closely with the rest of the team, you’ll contribute to our writing projects and our strength as a community resource.
You will be energetic and resourceful, bringing a friendly and practical approach to the role. You will recognise potential in everyone and find creative solutions with integrity and patience. A skilled communicator, you will be able to support diverse individuals and partnerships. With a strong track record in community engagement, you will drive change at the Ministry of Stories, so it is truly engaged with its neighbourhood.
