Free Word is seeking a Director to succeed Rose Fenton who is stepping down in Autumn 2016 after 5 years.
We are looking for a Director with creative vision and passion who will further our belief that words change lives. By delivering an accessible year round artistic programme and public events the Director will fulfil Free Word’s mission to promote and protect the written and spoken word, and to provide a space for collaboration, exploration and dissent.
Our home in the heart of London is shared with Founder Members including: Apples & Snakes, ARTICLE 19, Arvon, English PEN, The Literary Consultancy and The Reading Agency.
The Director is responsible for ensuring that Free Word is at the forefront of creative and collaborative thinking in the context of literature, literacy and free expression.
