Inspired by the past and ambitious for the future, the Wordsworth Trust promotes for public benefit the life and works of the great Romantic poet William Wordsworth and the literature and culture of the Romantic period.  Founded in 1891, we are based in Grasmere, in the heart of the English Lake District, where we look after Wordsworth’s home, Dove Cottage, and the world’s finest collection of manuscripts, books and paintings relating to the poet and his sister. Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum attract around 50,000 visitors each year, and to support our work we receive significant support from Arts Council England. 

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly-motivated individual to take on an exciting senior management role.  You will manage the financial operations of the Trust, a charity with an annual turnover of £1.9 million.  You will also oversee key operational functions, with responsibility for the Commercial, Estate and Visitor Experience teams.  You will take on the role of Company Secretary and be responsible for managing the Trust’s outsourced ICT contract.

You will join us at a particularly exciting point in the Wordsworth Trust’s history, as we look to transform our site and expand our activities to mark Wordsworth’s 250th birthday in 2020.
