The eight national companies of Wales are seeking an experienced freelance consultant to develop the shared agenda and priorities set by the collective to ensure a fully inclusive arts sector is achieved throughout Wales
Wales is undergoing an exciting and dynamic renaissance, led by its national companies, and underpinned by the network of individual artists, venues, producers and festivals. We have a major part to play in contributing to the profile and awareness of contemporary Welsh culture, helping shine a light on the rich diversity of work being presented, and enriching perceptions of the nation’s cultural offer. The Minister for Economy and Infrastructure’s statement on plans for culture in Wales will influence the agenda we pursue.
The consultant will assist the collective on building resilience and growth of the wider arts sector by developing diversity and inclusivity in our audiences, identify ways in which we can lead on supporting the professional development of arts professionals and how to increase the international profile and market opportunities for Wales. Identifying and assisting with the submission of funding applications to support the initiatives, including research reports on outcomes will also be a requirement of the brief.
The eight organisations are comprised of those designated as national companies by the Arts Council of Wales, and in receipt of Arts Council funding. They include the following:
BBC National Orchestra of Wales
Ffilm Cymru Wales
Literature Wales
National Dance Company Wales
National Theatre Wales
Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru
Wales Millennium Centre
Welsh National Opera
The national companies are committed to deliver equal opportunities in all that we do, and welcome bids from people of all backgrounds.
