Deadline: Sun 5 Jul 2015
The Sun newspaper is running a competition looking for the UK’s next top young columnist

The contest, which is a new version of the hugely successful ‘Column Idol’ competition, will now run with two age categories: 18-24 and 25+.

Five 18 to 24 year old finalists will see their column appear in The Sun Newspaper and also gain a place alongside budding journalist at the News Academy Summer School (a free week-long intensive training programme for students from across the UK and Ireland.).

To apply entrants need to write why they deserve to win and submit 200 words on something they feel passionate about at thesun.co.uk/gbso.

The overall winner of the competition will also have a full-page column appear in TheSun.
