The Story Museum is a pioneering education charity founded in 2003. Our Mission is to harness the power of stories to inspire learning and improve wellbeing. We are creating a world-leading Story Museum in the heart of Oxford, as a home for our collection of stories and story objects, and as a place to  over 34,000 people at the Museum and through outreach activity and have received an overwhelmingly positive response from visitors of all ages.

We are looking for a full-time Head of Learning and Participation to join our small and dedicated team. You will be joining us at an exciting and challenging phase of development as we build on our successful public programmes at the same time as completing the transformation of our home. You will lead on developing, implementing and delivering our learning and participation strategy, both inside and outside our building for visitors of all ages.

You will have teaching and/or training qualifications and experience, good knowledge of educational theory and best practice and an understanding of the learning and participation needs of existing and potential cultural and heritage audiences. You will be a creative and strategic thinker. You will also have excellent organisational, presentational and management skills and a love of children’s literature and storytelling.
