Intergenerational Project Worker
Deadline: Fri 19 Aug 2016
Age UK Kensington & Chelsea is an independent, local charity working at the heart of the community to provide companionship, support and advice to thousands of older people

We provide a wide range of services which promote independence and combat isolation, including befriending, practical help, information & advice and a variety of social and leisure activities.

The role

Age UK K&C has 19 years' experience of building successful relationships between older and younger residents in our borough. We bring generations together through a range of shared interests such as music, theatre and visual arts. In addition to this we provide a core programme of one-to-one support from local sixth form students with computer tuition, reading assistance for the visually impaired and English conversation practice. We are seeking a skilled Intergenerational Project Worker to help build on this success and bring new insight and opportunities to the project.

This is a full time post for a creative and energetic person with a commitment to making our neighbourhoods welcoming places for young and old, with a knack for working across traditional boundaries. For more information about our Intergenerational Project, visit our website.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with experience of working in a community based setting and the ability to build a rapport with a wide range of people. If this sounds like you, visit our website to download the full job description and application form. Please send your completed application to recruitment@aukc.org.uk by 5pm on Friday 19th August.
