The University of Exeter seeks to appoint a permanent full-time Lecturer in Creative Writing and English Literature
In RAE 2008, English at Exeter was rated 1st nationally for 'world-leading research'. We seek to build on that achievement by appointing a new Lecturer capable of developing an international profile and generating significant grant income. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and committed individual who, with appropriate training and mentoring, will contribute fully to the Department's programme of activities, including the delivery of seminars and lectures, personal tutoring, and assessment. This post offers the opportunity to participate in the life of a vibrant and innovative English Department.
The successful applicant will already hold a Ph.D. in English Literature, and will have a record of publishing creative work (in any genre) and scholarly research (in any area of English Literature). S/he will be able to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics: an outstanding research profile; a strong record in attracting research funding, or demonstrable potential to attract such funding; team skills to work in collaboration with existing group members; an active and supportive approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research that will help to foster interactions and links within the University and externally; the attitude and ability to engage in continuous professional development; the aptitude to develop a variety of strategies to promote and assess learning; and an enthusiasm for delivering undergraduate programmes.
