Lecturer in Creative Writing (Fiction), University of Kent

This part-time lectureship in creative writing (teaching & research) at the University of Kent offers an exciting opportunity for an academic with an emerging record of international excellence in practice and publication commensurate with career stage, and experience in teaching at University level.

The successful applicant will contribute to the School’s undergraduate curriculum by teaching seminar groups and acting as a module convenor, as well as playing an active role in the Centre for Creative Writing. You will also be expected to undertake supervision of PhD students and to have plans for a full complement of 3* or 4* publications ready for submission at REF 2020.

To be successful in this role you will have:
• Successful teaching of relevant modules across a broad range of undergraduate degree levels.
• An emerging record of international excellence in publication in fiction commensurate with career stage.
• Evidence of on-going research projects.

The School of English currently has c. 900 full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate students. Its permanent academic staff of 43 includes an excellent cohort of highly promising and productive early career researchers alongside senior staff with international reputations.

Salary: £33,518 to £47,722
