The University of Lincoln is an ambitious institution becoming a top 50 University in 2012. Its strategy is to combine outstanding research with research-engaged teaching and learning
This post is located within the School of English and Journalism, as part of the College of Arts. The successful applicant would be joining the new BA (Hons) English and Creative Writing programme which is due to start in September 2017, with a specialism in prose writing whether novels or the short story format.
The continued success of the School will be driven by its academic community. In English, its high quality undergraduate programmes are evolving to enhance research-engaged education, and it has very successful masters-level programmes in English studies and Creative Writing. An expansion of undergraduate provision in creative writing is particularly important to the ambitions of the School, which is also intending to build on its achievements in the 2014 REF and its doctoral programme by raising the standard of research output, increasing the number of research-active staff and making explicit the impact of its research.
The new programme is looking particularly for applicants who will be interested in teaching different aspects of prose as a particularly important part of our provision for the coming year. In addition, the successful applicant will have an active role to play in the future development of this new programme as it takes on additional cohorts.
