Lecturer in English, Creative Writing or History - Foundation Stage Lead, University of Plymouth

The School of Humanities and Performing Arts at the University of Plymouth is seeking an energetic and committed teacher and scholar with a background in either History, English, or Creative Writing (or a combination of these.
We are launching a new Foundation Year in the Humanities in September 2018 which will represent the first year of four-year degrees (BA English with Foundation, BA English and Creative Writing with Foundation, BA History with Foundation).
You will lead the foundation stage and act as stage tutor to our Humanities foundation students. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, and will work effectively both independently and as part of a team with colleagues and with students. Experience of teaching at foundation level is desirable.
The post requires:
• A first degree in a Humanities subject, and PhD in a Humanities subject; • The ability to teach across the undergraduate curriculum; • Experience of academic administration responsibilities; • Excellent academic and pastoral support for students; • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively in a team and to take initiative

This is a part-time position working 22.2 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for 21 months with an expected start date of 10 September 2018. Salary: £33,518 to £38,833 pro rata, per annum. Job Ref: A5819
