Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Writing

Victoria University of Wellington wish to appoint a full time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer for our Writing Programme

urrently we offer undergraduate courses in academic writing (WRIT 101: Writing at University and WRIT 151: Writing in English as a Second Language) and professional writing (WRIT 202: Writing for Business and WRIT 203: Writing for Media). Additional courses in advanced academic writing are also being considered. As well as teaching and administration, there is an expectation that the appointee will contribute substantially to the research programme of the School and supervise to PhD level.

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field (e.g. writing pedagogy, rhetorical theory, or genre studies), teaching experience and a commitment to advancing pedagogy in both academic and professional/technical writing. A qualification in TESOL would be an advantage but is not essential. Experience in course development and management and in supervising student research is desirable, but early career academics and recent PhD graduates are also encouraged to apply.
