Live Theatre/Northumbria University Writer in Residence 2016/17
Deadline: Mon 22 Feb 2016
Live Theatre and Northumbria University Newcastle are seeking to appoint a writer in residence for twelve months, beginning in September 2016
This new writer in residency programme will enable a writer with substantial experience of writing for theatre/performance to work across both our organisations. We‘re looking for a writer who has an interest in developing their own practice, and sharing their expertise with communities at both Live Theatre and NPA (Northumbria Performing Arts). It is envisaged that the successful writer would have a strong current knowledge of modern/contemporary theatre practices, plays and playwrights; and a track record of professional production.
The writer in residence programme is the cornerstone of an exciting and innovative partnership between Northumbria University Newcastle and Live Theatre, that seeks to create cultural collaborations that connect with the people of the North East, enhance teaching and learning, inspire new research, and connect academic research with the world of professional theatre.
