Brent Council are seeking to recruit a consultant with significant experience and excellent credentials in the cultural sector to help us shape our vision

Brent Council are seeking to recruit a consultant with significant experience and excellent credentials in the cultural sector to help us shape our vision, working with partners and communities across the borough, to develop our bid for the London Borough of Culture award. This process has already begun and the successful candidate will join the project delivery team between August and December 2017.

Brent is an exceptional borough with a flourishing cultural scene. It boasts a wide range of exciting destinations, from the country’s national stadium, the SSE Wembley Arena, the Swaminarayan Temple, ACE Café, award winning parks and outdoor spaces and the Tricycle Theatre which has an international reputation.

This rich cultural diversity has fostered strong international connections with Ealing Road in Wembley known as one of the premier shopping districts for Asian celebrations and Harlesden being described as the reggae capital outside of Jamaica. There is a tremendous thirst for cultural activity in Brent and the council is committed to the development and encouragement of a broad range of cultural activities making it a great place to live, work and play for the whole community.

We are looking for an individual or team with excellent links to the cultural sector, experience in delivering high quality programming for multicultural audiences and an exceptional track record of sucessfully bidding for arts funding. Significant experience delivering community engagement, audience development and strategic development in the cultural sector is also essential.

The successful applicant will take the lead in developing the vision for the bid and producing the final bid for submission.
