Managing/Programme Director
Deadline: Mon 26 Jan 2015
The Poetry Translation Centre is a small organisation dedicated to translating contemporary poetry from Africa, Asia and Latin America

he Poetry Translation Centre – the highly-regarded, Arts Council-funded organisation dedicated to translating contemporary poetry from Africa, Asia and Latin America, is expanding its activity and reach from January 2015 and is seeking a senior leader to work with Founding/Artistic Director Sarah Maguire in the ongoing development and management of the company’s work.

The Managing/Programme Director is a new position (.8 FTE) and the successful candidate will work closely with Sarah in her continuing role as PTC’s Artistic Director.  From our base at the Free Word Centre (where the PTC is an Associate Organisation), the Managing/Programme Director will be responsible for the development and delivery of key programme activity as well as the general management of the organisation (financial/fundraising/marketing).

This is a special opportunity for someone with senior experience in the literature sector looking to use their programme, publishing, education and outreach experience to make an impact on a small, but dynamic, innovative and highly successful organisation. As this is a new position, it will be offered initially as a fixed-term, one-year contract (which may be freelance) with the role evaluated throughout the year.
