You, Me & Everyone in Portsmouth will be a literary-visual event created by The ReAuthoring Project over the weekend of 26 October 2013. Through an extensive outreach process we will collect the stories, memories and aspirations of the Portsmouth community and share these via large-scale projection onto the grand, neoclassical façade of the Portsmouth Guildhall.

The Outreach Associate must have a strong interest in working with communities and a firm commitment to finding innovative and accessible ways for them to engage with the arts. The Outreach Associate will also be very familiar with greater Portsmouth and have strong connections with the community groups and schools in the region to support our outreach objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, identify and deliver a programme of outreach activity that engages a broad spectrum of greater Portsmouth, from primary school children to elders
  • Deliver recommendations on how to encourage ‘hard-to-reach’ community members to engage with the project
  • Devise and deliver weekend activities that can engage local community members/businesses to engage with the project
  • Promote and raise the awareness of You, Me & Everyone in Portsmouth and The ReAuthoring Project generally
  • Contribute to the development of online resources
  • Develop a suitable evaluation form for programme contributors and audiences and collate evaluation data from these sources for reporting purposes 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years’ facilitation experience with a sound awareness of inclusion strategies
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of working with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures
  • Experience of developing and implementing new strategies and ways of working
  • Demonstrated ability to engage community groups in order to implement and deliver inclusive and engaging workshops

Other

  • Suitability to work with young people (an enhanced CRB check will be required)
  • Willingness to work some weekends and evenings TBC
