Professor of Creative Writing (Prose Fiction)
Deadline: Mon 5 Mar 2018
University College Dublin invites applications for a permanent appointment as Professor of Creative Writing (0.5FTE) in the School of English, Drama, and Film.

Applicants should be writers with a significant and highly visible reputation in prose fiction. Their standing is likely to be evidenced by major international awards and a publishing history characterised by depth and breadth.

The successful candidate will provide leadership in practice-based research developments in prose fiction in this rapidly developing area in the School. Their reputation will promote UCD writing programmes in Ireland and internationally, and support the further development of the established MA and MFA programmes, and the new undergraduate and PhD programme.

Creative Writing at UCD is characterised by its strong links with high profile individual writers and with arts organisations in Dublin and beyond. The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to these links, to use their connections to bring visiting writers to the campus for readings and to interact with students, and to enhance the scholarly and teaching community of the School, College, and University.

Further information (including application procedure) is available from the UCD Job Vacancies website

Closing Date: 17:00hrs (local Irish Time) on Monday 5 March 2018.
