Project Coordinator, Moniack Mhor Creative Writing Centre

Three year, part-time role working with care experienced young people to develop their writing skills, confidence and creative voice.

Moniack Mhor is about to launch a three-year programme of activity for care experienced young people and care leavers aged 14 – 26 throughout Scotland. Activity includes taster sessions in a variety of different genres of creative writing, deeper learning workshops, residential courses, mentoring, a leadership programme and a ‘go see’ fund. The programme aims to support in both a group setting and on a one-to-one basis. This work is supported with funding from the Life Changes Trust. The Trust is funded by the Big Lottery.

The Project Coodinator will undertake all administration relating to the project, including liaising with young people and partner organisations, building relationships with and supporting/facilitating young writers at outreach activities and on residential courses. The role will also include programming activity, liaising and supporting tutors who will be delivering the activity and working with the wider Moniack Mhor staff team. The role will be based at Moniack Mhor with outreach to other areas in the Highlands and Scotland.

The role will be part-time, 2 days/14 hours per week (with the potential to increase) and some evening and weekend work may be required. Salary £22,000 FTE.
