The Institute of Art and Ideas re looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Content Editor for our new IAI Events program, as well as the highly successful HowTheLightGetsIn Festival

The IAI generates world leading editorial content across a variety disciplines. You have the originality to generate your own cutting edge ideas and be capable of making accurate editorial judgments.

Your responsibilities will include developing and managing a strategic timeline for each event from editorial conception, through to event management. You will also be responsible for ensuring the research and development of each event is guided by its commercial viability and is targeted to a specific audience. Managing a team of researchers, you will ensure that all responsibilities are met according to deadline across editorial, sales, marketing, production and design. Combining both desk research with interactive engagement with speakers and previous audience members, this role requires you to develop ‘must have’ content which will drive the IAI’s core brand of internationally recognized intellectual content. In addition, you will support the development team by providing key insights into each event and assisting with the key concepts to pitch to corporate partners. Working in collaboration with the Director and Events Manager, you will be the driving force behind each event and ensuring future growth for the company.

You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the dedication and conviction to see each event to its conclusion. A demonstrable interest in philosophy and ideas is a must, as well as engagement with arts, politics, science and current affairs. Applicants will need to demonstrate exceptional academic results (min. 2.1 from a top university) and in addition to a razor sharp mind, will have the personal communication and persuasion skills to excite the UK’s leading thinkers. Experience in journalism, research or project management is desirable, but not required.
