Senior Lecturer (Screenwriting) BA (Hons) and MA Film Production
Deadline: Mon 12 Feb 2018
The Bournemouth Film School at Arts University Bournemouth is seeking a film practitioner with skills and experience in Screenwriting and its critical study to teach on our BA (Hons) Film Production and MA Film Production courses.

Arts University Bournemouth is the leading professional arts university dedicated to turning creativity into careers. Offering courses in art, design, architecture, media and performance, we are passionate about our specialist subjects and dedicated both to education and the creative industries which we support.

With a history spanning over 50 years, Bournemouth Film School (BFS) sits at the heart of Arts University Bournemouth and brings together the disciplines of Film Production, Animation, Visual Effects, Costume and Make-up.

The BA (Hons) Film Production and MA Film Production courses utilise a specialist award structure modelled on the contemporary film industry and contextualised by a philosophy of practical learning in an academic environment. The courses are developing important links with the new BA (Hons) Visual Effects Design and Production course, supported by the University’s on-campus relationship with Framestore, and have well established collaborations with courses in Animation, Costume, Make-up and Acting.

You will have a track record in Screenwriting for film and/or other media platforms and have experience of teaching at Higher Education level. You will be qualified to Doctorate level and provide evidence of ongoing research activity. An understanding of current and emerging digital technologies in film production is desirable, as is an interest in non-fiction as well as fiction forms.

You will have responsibility for managing the effective learning of students, including setting, supervising and assessing work, as well as contributing to the development of the course curriculum. The Film Subject Area has significant plans for developing practice based research, and Arts University Bournemouth offers a range of support for research active staff.
