At Calderstones, TRO is developing an international flagship project, a world-renowned, sustainable home for the organisation where we can showcase our whole person, whole population approach to shared reading.

Calderstones will become the permanent home for the organisation and a sustainable financial model will ensure we can extend the reach, impact and influence of the organisation. You will develop and support a series of commercial enterprises that will:

1. Compliment TRO core activity and work in harmony with our ethos and values
2. Earn income to support Calderstones running costs
3. Provide high quality volunteering roles for our beneficiaries

We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual. For The Reader Organisation and the Calderstones Project it is a combination of responsibility and behaviours:

• You need to have ambition – You need to spot opportunities to develop enterprises which can make money.  You need to deeply care about the project.

• Somebody who can start things from scratch – once you have spotted enterprising opportunities, you need to get your hands dirty and make the enterprise happen often with little financial resource

• You need to be able to sell – get yourself out and about across Liverpool and find routes to market for the enterprises that have been developed. 

• Build and Manage Internal Relationships –  It is going to take 3-5 years before we have got it the project spot on – it is a very fluid environment, one week to the next isn’t the same – you need to be able to thrive in that and find a way to structure it.
