The Cardiff Review
Deadline: Mon 30 Nov 2015
The Cardiff Review publishes new content monthly: one work of fiction, nonfiction and poetry

Biannually, we publish an anthology of work that did not appear on the site. We are currently accepting work for the January, February and March digital issues.

We welcome submissions in English, from anywhere in the world. However, we give reading and publication precedence to students currently on a related postgraduate course (i.e. Creative Writing, English Literature or Journalism) or, alternatively, who have recently graduated and have yet to publish a major work.

Prose

Fiction and non-fiction submissions should be between 1500 and 5000 words. Micro-fiction should be under 500 words. One work per submission.

Poetry

Individual poems should be no longer than 50 lines. Two poems per submission.

Illustrations and Photography

We publish visual art in conjunction with written work. The Cardiff Review will place call-outs for illustrations and photography as they are needed. If you would like to be added to our list of visual artists who receive call-outs, please send your name, contact information and preferred medium to mel@cardiffreview.com.

We do not accept previously published work, which includes blogs and online portfolios. Contributors are paid for their work.

We accept submissions via email. Please send as a .doc (.docx) attachment to submissions@cardiffreview.com. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, though we ask that you notify us immediately should your work be accepted elsewhere and your submission will be withdrawn.

A short bio in the body of your email is recommended, as it will be included with the piece should it be chosen for publication. Your email should also include:

Name
Programme of study
Expected date of completion
Institution

Your document should be double spaced in Times New Roman with 1 inch (2.54 cm) margins. The title of your story should be in the header of the document and page numbers inserted in the top right corner.

Please do not include identifying information on the work itself.

Response times vary and may be as long as one month. If after the initial month you have not heard from us, we are happy to answer email queries.
