FREE Skills Sessions for 16-24 year olds

Arts Taster – Arts for Social Change

Saturday 2nd July  2.00pm-4.00pm

This Warwickshire Young Creatives skills session will be led by artist Emily Warner. Create live compositions with objects and text to film and photograph ‘activated posters’. Emily Warner is an artist and researcher who engages a multi-disciplinary arts practice such as performative-action, photography, and film. Places must be booked in advance on 01926 412132.

An Introduction to the Warwickshire Young Creatives

Thursday 7th July 5.00pm-8.00pm

This early evening event is a chance to explore what the Warwickshire Young Creatives programme has to offer and meet other 16-24 year olds in Warwickshire with an interest in the arts. Head to St John’s Museum for a celebration of youth arts in Warwickshire and find out more. Get a festival stencil face paint with Sara Reynolds of Sara’s Parlour Face Painting, watch a VJ set by artist Liam D’Authreau and take part in making some art. Listen to Young Poet Laureate perform and take part in an ‘illustrating the activist’ art workshop with artist Emily Warner. Pizza and refreshments provided. Book in advance by calling 01926 412132 or just drop in on the night.

Warwickshire Young Creatives Summer Programme

Learn new skills, work with an artist and curators, create artwork for public display and plan exciting new events. Great opportunity to boost your C.V.

Share your opinions and ideas with your peers and arts professionals about the most important things that impact on the lives of young people living in Warwickshire today.  Highlight the issues that are important to you and develop your ability to translate ideas into art.

The workshops will take place each Saturday afternoon between 23rd July and 3rd September, 2-4pm. Applicants should be aged 16-24 years old. There are bursaries for each participant to cover travel costs up to £15 per session per participant.
