The Reader Organisation is an award-winning charitable social enterprise working to connect people with great literature through shared reading
This role calls for an exceptionally highly-motivated and dedicated person. You will be responsible for the successful management of a team in the Wirral alongside some delivery of shared reading.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Manage the work of the staff team, including recruitment, allocation of responsibilities, objective setting and development reviews, staff support and supervision, budget management, IT, Communications, Quality, Monitoring and Evaluation, dealing with day to day issues and concerns
- Arrange and lead team meetings
- Manage, support and supervise volunteers
- Liaise with host organisations and ensure best practice, including Service Level Agreements and Risk Assessments
- Ensure a high standard of delivery of Shared Reading by ensuring groups meet our quality standards; that staff and volunteers are well trained and engage in continuous professional development and that regular monitoring and evaluation takes place
- Seek to raise the profile of The Reader Organisation throughout the North West
- Manage, sustain and develop existing projects and commissions
- Work with the Development Team and Operations Manager to support the renegotiation of existing and new commissions; to enhance relations with commissioners, grant managers and local authority and NHS staff
- Monitor operational targets and milestones
- Ensure reports to funders are submitted on time and to a high standard
- Be the link with Head Office re Budget Management, IT, Communications, Quality, etc., and liaise with Head Office support functions as and when required
