It’s envisaged the successful candidate will deliver workshops that interact with current library initiatives, such as Summer Reading Challenge and be willing to creatively engage with libraries to produce new work reflective of the residency.

As well as being a talented writer, the Writer in Residence will be a confident speaker and advocate for the pleasures of reading and writing.

An honorarium of £5000 accompanies the position, based on a commitment of one day per week over a twelve-month period. A publication of the residency’s written output is also included.
