This is a remarkable opportunity to play a key part in the growth of a rapidly expanding and unique organisation, the Institute of Art and Ideas (IAI). Described by the Guardian as 'the return to big thinking' and by Total Politics as 'Europe's answer to TED', the IAI puts on events throughout the year, including HowTheLightGetsIn - now the world's largest philosophy festival. It is also responsible for IAI.tv, bringing big ideas to a global audience with a fortnightly release of new debates and talks involving the world's leading thinkers, politicians, scientists and artists, and IAI News, our online ideas magazine.

We are looking for an experienced Writer to communicate the IAI’s vision to a global audience. The Writer will play a critical role in shaping the IAI’s editorial voice across our portfolio of content in philosophy, science, politics and the arts, with responsibility for written content on IAI TV, IAI NEWS, our social media, and the HowTheLightGetsIn website. You will need to show the capacity to write fluid, convincing, entertaining and intellectually enriching content across a wide variety of platforms.

Applicants for these posts will need to demonstrate exceptional academic results (min. 2.1 from a top university) and in addition to a razor sharp mind, will have the writing skills to help grow the IAI brand to a global audience. You will be capable of making accurate editorial judgments and will have the originality to think on your own and in new directions.

Although this appointment will be for a full time position, we will also consider intern posts for those with limited experience if they are sufficiently outstanding.

If you think you have what it takes to succeed in this role please send a CV, covering letter and examples of your work to jobs@artandideas.org, stating ‘Writer’ in the subject line
