Chris Fewings is a writer, editor and tutor in Birmingham, passionate about poetry and fascinated by the power of story to shape and transform our lives. He writes poetry, fiction, and articles on current issues, and reads his work at literature events in Birmingham.
Chris's poems have appeared in Ink Sweat & Tears, Under the Radar, The Stare's Nest, and Cannon's Mouth. His work was commended in the Manchester Cathedral Poetry Competition 2013. His pamphlet 'Thinking the Rea' was longlisted for the Café Writers Commission 2014. Chris now edits a poetry magazine, www.ground.org.uk.
Two articles have appeared in the Guardian newspaper. A short alphabetic novella, A Glossary of my Grandmother, was published as an e-book in 2013.
He's currently (2015) running a creative writing course for adults in Moseley, and undertaking a postgraduate course in teaching creative writing at Manchester Metropolitan University. In 2013 he was writer in residence at Balsall Heath Library, where his weekly poetry appreciation group has been running since 2012. He took part in the Well Versed programme in 2011, working alongside Julie Boden at Minworth Primary School.
