Creative Writing (Term 2)

This is a continuation from Creative Writing Term 1 but you can join the class with no prior experience and an interest in developing your creative writing skills.

This is a continuation from Creative Writing Term 1 but you can join the class with no prior experience and an interest in developing your creative writing skills.
Modules
Course Content: Gothic: suspense, dread, formats, purpose and language; Humour: different types, techniques, irony; Crime: mystery, plotting, Cludo and the country house murder; Action / Adventure: cliff hangers, dilemmas, pace, plot, character; Ideas / Inspirations 1: History, magazines, newspapers, myths, fables, stories, archives, memoirs, diaries, orally recorded narratives, traditions, institutions, the so-called 'Canon'; Ideas / Inspirations 2: psychology, philosophy, religion, science, semiology, politics; Writing for children: techniques, formats, publishers; Fantasy: techniques, ideas, what to read? Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
