Jake Campbell
"Poetry is a way of unhinging what we perceive to be fixed truths. I want my writing to be a means of exploring those truths. With the words I employ I want to show the world not only as it is, but how it has been; how it might be; what wondrous enigmas might arise out of that bizarre world if it were only observed from new angles."
Biography:
Jake Campbell has recently returned to South Shields, former Roman stronghold and ex-shipbuilding town at the mouth of the River Tyne. Prior to doing so, he enjoyed four years in Chester, learning about great works of literature and how he might further that tradition. Currently working on the manuscript for what he cryptically describes as ‘a poem in three acts’, he continues to write and perform poetry and short stories while working part time, searching for enlightenment through the eternal quest for, supposedly, a golden career in what he’s been told is the real world ? a fabled land he can scarcely conceive nor believe in.
