Whether starting out as a writer or seeking to enhance your skills, tutors Margaret Elphinstone and Mary Smith will support & encourage you in developing your writing. Workshop topics include the creation of character & plot, the role of the narrative voice & writing from personal experience. There is ample opportunity to discuss your work with the tutors and fellow students. Numbers limited to allow individual attention.

Margaret Elphinstone is a historical novelist and also writes poetry and short stories. She has taught creative writing to all levels of experience and has been a regular tutor on international Arvon courses.

Mary Smith is a writer, poet and journalist, her poems being widely published. She has an MLitt in Creative Writing and has taught the subject at Glasgow University.
