Leeds Trinity’s Writers’ Festival Day provided access to eight published writers in a series of workshops designed to encourage and develop the skills of a new generation of writers.
Dr Paul Hardwick, Programme Leader for
English and Writing at Leeds Trinity, said, “For me, this is always one of the highlights of the year, when members of our campus and local communities get the chance to really stretch themselves creatively.”
Workshops throughout the day ranged from techniques in mastering dialogue, to autobiography and prose poetry. Susan Barker, Royal Literary Fund Fellow at Leeds Trinity, focussed her workshop on the invention of character, studying everyday figures to find elements which make them unique.
