Writing from Art: Ekphrasis
Sat 11 Nov 2017 to Sat 18 Nov 2017
Learn how to ‘paint with words’ on this Nottingham Trent University course for writers of both prose and poetry
The course explores ekphrastic writing, where you use art as inspiration in your work and expand its meaning through perspective, character and technique to create your own written masterpiece.
No experience of writing or art is necessary. It’s more important that you just want to write. The course is also useful for anyone writing non-fiction who wants to free up their creative thinking, or for artists who wish to write about their work or the work of others.
Tutor: Becky Cullen is a poet and AHRC-Midlands3Cities funded researcher at Nottingham Trent University. Her thesis explores how poetry breaks time through repetition, pace and stratification.
