Poet in the City brings poetry to life beyond books, producing classic and contemporary poetry performances taking on major ideas, issues and people. We showcase biopics, use poetry to animate moments of cultural and social change, and create dramatic poetry experiences in major arts venues and unusual spaces. We want to make live poetry a popular art form, and are bringing large and diverse audiences to events across the city.

If you are the sort of person who loves creative writing, is technologically savvy, extremely organised and up for getting stuck-in, we’d love to welcome you to our small and dynamic team!

This post is offered as part of the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries Programme, aimed specifically at recent graduates from low-income backgrounds looking to start a career in the arts. The placement includes training, mentoring and the opportunity to go to Europe along with other people taking part in the programme.

In order to be eligible applicants must:
• Have graduated from a first degree (BA or equivalent) within the past two years (i.e. in 2015, 2016 or 2017. No minimum grade required AND
• Have received a full maintenance grant during the full period of their course and be able to verify it with the necessary paperwork AND
• Be a full-time UK resident.
