Project Coordinator
Deadline: Fri 30 Sep 2016
Learning to Fly is an arts-led response to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) supported Surrey in the Great War: A County Remembers project

It is a two phase project and for the first phase, we are seeking a project coordinator to work alongside our lead poet / writer to coordinate a programme of community-based writing and poetry workshops across Surrey.  The writing workshops will draw upon the gathered archive of materials from 100 years ago, which have been collected from across Surrey by teams of historians and volunteers as part of the Surrey in the Great Warproject for inspiration.  For the second phase of the project the coordinator will work in support of a sound artist who will create a sound installation based on the poetry created during the first phase of the project and on historic, recreated and found sounds

The project coordinator will liaise with project partners, including district and borough councils, Surrey libraries and other venues to set up workshops across the county.

The coordinator will also be responsible for creating marketing materials that will appeal to a wide range of people and will promote the programme to Surrey’s many diverse communities.

Learning to Fly is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Arts Partnership Surrey (APS).
